2017 FALL FEST - A FUNDRAISING CONCERT SERIES - BENEFITING TOURISM ON THE CENTRAL COAST and SLO JAZZ FESTIVAL
SAN LUIS OBISPO- SLO Jazz Festival announces a the 2nd year of a new festival to build tourism during the Fall Season, 2017 FALL FEST a concert-series fundraiser for SLO Jazz Festival and the Summer Jazz Workshop. The 2017 Fall Fest will be held at three different boutique locations over four weekends (note, additional shows may be added). This fun and classy event series was created to grow tourism, support the SLO Jazz Festival, and make a difference for music education on the central coast the Central Coast.
The confirmed shows are as follows:
Sept. 30 – Elektric Voodoo opening for blues legend Rick Estrin and the Nightcats located by the bay between Giovanni’s Fish Market and STAX in Morro Bay with a gorgeous backdrop of Morro Rock.
Oct. 14 – Funk all-stars Jungle Fire opening for Orgōne (who opened for The Roots, Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show band) located by the bay between Giovanni’s Fish Market and STAX in Morro Bay with a gorgeous backdrop of Morro Rock.
Oct. 21 – Tribute to Pat Metheny (Bay Area Guitar Fest stars Hristo Vitchev, Terrence Brewer, and Rick Vandivier) at the groovy “speakeasy” Park Place just off the Pioneer Square in Paso Robles.
Nov. 11 – Legendary bluesman Coco Montoya at the picturesque Pavilion on the Lake in Atascadero.

Doors open for the shows in Morro Bay at 1:30PM with show times at 2:00PM and 4:30PM. The other shows either open at 6:30 or 7:30PM, depending on if an opening act is booked. Ticket pricing varies from $30 General Admission ($25 for SLO Jazz Festival Members) and $60 VIP (sold as a table of 4 for $240 for General VIP or $200 for Member VIP tables) which includes special seating, a
“Meet & Greet” and other special benefits (food & wine options). Each concert will feature special silent and live auction trips to New Orleans, NYC, and additional auction items and services, and $20 wine raffle tickets with a 1 in 100 chance in winning 20 bottles of wine (valued at $25 average) to raise money for the 5th 2018 SLO Jazz Festival and the 2018 Summer Jazz Workshop.
“We planned these enjoyable concerts with great bands who are known to put on amazing shows, in gorgeous venues across the Central Coast, and with fun auction trips and a wine raffle so we may grow the 2018 SLO Jazz Festival and improve the 2018 Summer Jazz workshop by expanding hours and bringing in more guest artists/educators for the youth,” said Scott Andrews, Executive Director and Founder of SLO Jazz Festival and Founder of the Fall Fest. “This series can both bring more tourism to the Central Coast and highlight some amazing music, while doing ‘good’ simultaneously for education and our youth. We scheduled these concerts as a celebration of life through music. We will have pro sound that matches the high quality venues throughout this series of exciting shows with International & Regional all-star talent.”
